Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat in Baja, Mexico
Nadi Tuning: Re-energize and Renew
by Derek Beres and K. Michael Ferranti
Feb 13-20, 2010
Prana Del Mar | Baja, Mexico
(one half-hour from Cabo San Lucas)
Join EarthRise Yoga creator Derek Beres and Gotham Ayurveda founder K. Michael Ferranti for this exciting one-week retreat that will be as educational and informative as it will be relaxing, physically inspiring, and contemplative. Two daily yoga classes taught by Beres will focus on a different energetic opening each day, while Ferranti’s vast knowledge of the Ayurvedic system provide the opportunity to deepen your personal knowledge of the body-mind relationship.
About Nadis: In yogic philosophy, we have thousands of nadis, or energy channels, located throughout our bodies. On this retreat, one morning and one evening yoga class will be offered each day, specifically designed for working with and fine-tuning the major energetic channels. Beres will also lead dharma dialogues about the philosophies behind the postures, leading guests into a deeper awareness and appreciation of why these movements are important to our emotional and mental well being.
About Ayurveda: For this retreat, Ferranti will offer group lectures concentrating on the fundamentals of Ayurvedic/Vedic Philosophy, lead group meditations, provide insights into the healing aspects of a daily pranayam practice, and share demonstrations of Jala Neti (Neti Pot) and Abhyanga (self-body massage). He will include a day in the kitchen, teaching guests how to make their own kitchari and ghee, as well as offering each individual an Ayurvedic comprehensive consultation session. In addition, he will guide any guest that wishes to partake in a Detoxification/Kitchari fast during the week.
Location: Prana del Mar is located on five beautiful beachfront acres near the southern tip of the Baja peninsula in Mexico. With the mountains to the east, the Pacific to the west, and the desert all around, the center is comfortably nestled in a tranquil valley that provides an ideal setting for rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and exploration. The resort includes 15 guest rooms and suites, delicious cuisine, a spa with swimming pool, and Jacuzzi, a spacious yoga studio, and a stunning beach just steps away.
